Finally, on Monday I felt a puppy kick my hand! It is such a neat feeling to feel them move. Everyday when meyla is resting I put my hands on her belly and wait, usually within a minute or so I can feel them.
This weekend is the time for me to tear apart the dining room and turn it into a whelping room and get everything ready and clean.

L to R, Lilla, Kinna, Trissa, Loki and Ro  Here is a recent picture of Loki and Kinna. In top picture, Kinna is on the top and Loki the bottom. The red dog on the right is Thor, Loki's "brother".   All she seems to want to do now is eat!!! She is really filling out. Meyla is already getting close to finishing her 6th week. Every few days or so I will try to get a picture of her laying on her belly, legs out. This will give us something to compare as she gets closer to her due date. This week I'm going to have a friend come over with a really good stethoscope and try and listen for heartbeats, I will let you know if we can hear any. I'm hoping by the end of next week that I can feel the puppies moving The first time you feel the puppies move is total confirmation that there really are puppies in there. She has some loose skin now on her belly and she is starting to fill out. Today is day 34, only 29 to go. I will try and get a picture of Meyla today and post it later:) Poor thing, Meyla must really be nauseated, she keeps eating grass like she can't get enough. Then of course she throws it up.
The only way I can get her to eat more then a few bites of food is to put hamburger or a little bit of cottage cheese on it. Hopefull only another week of not eating. I can't belive she is already on day 30, only 33 more days to go!!!! The last few days Meyla has started to not want to eat her breakfast, this has happened the last 2 times she was having puppies!!
I do think she is expecting. I also noticed today that her belly isn't tight anymore. She continues to be extra affectionate too. Today is the 24th day of her pregnancy, only 39 days to go!! I can't believe how fast the time flies by. |
