Puppies 4 and 5 days old

The puppies are getting bigger and gaining close to an ounce a day.  Today Meyla has finally started to leave the whelping box more.  Over the past 5 days she has hardly left the box at all.
Today I had a little scare with one of the girl puppies, I picked her up and noticed that she sounded crackly with her breathing.  With her being so tiny I decided to take her into the after hours vet clinic.
The vet thinks that maybe she inhaled some milk wrong and that is causing the crackles.  He said it just needs to clear up on its own and sent me home with some antibiotics for a few days, just to make sure an infection doesn't set in.  Phewww, I was scared there for a while.
I will keep you updated on her progress.  She is eating and gaining weight well so hopefully it will clear up in a few days.
