Boi is going to his home next week!!!! 01/27/2012
If you are interested in an Icelandic Sheepdog puppy my next litter will be sometime in 2012. Not sure when Smá will come into heat, but I will let you know as soon as I know. If Smá isn't co-operative then I will think about one last litter for Meyla this fall. I will be starting a waitlist for the next litter, probably Smá's. If you would like to be placed on my wait list, please e-mail me at smts29@att.net Add Comment I can't believe that they are 2 already!!! I will try and get some updated pictures and post them. Max is available for stud now, 2 clean Cerfs and PennHIP L.39 and .30. Indi lives in Alaska and just had a clean Cerf and hips are being done. Smá's hips 01/18/2012
I just received Smá's Penn-HIP scores and am happy to say I think she has the 2nd tightest hips out of all the Icelandic sheepdogs tested L.24 R.24. Her OFA prelim is a Good. Tri-Star Boi is available!!! 01/16/2012
Smá had her hips done 01/09/2012
I finally took Smá in to have her hips done, a Penn-HIP was done and an OFA prelim and I am happy to say the vet said she has great hips!!!! Now I can breathe. I will post the official scores when they come back in about 2 weeks. I have also done Smá's DNA kit for AKC. Since she is from Denmark a DNA kit must be on file with the AKC in order to breed. All puppies are in their forever homes!!! 12/21/2011
All the puppies are in their new homes and doing well. Leira was the last to leave last Friday. The dining room is no longer looking like a puppy play yard. Hopefully it won't be more then 6 months for it to be filled with puppies from Smá. I have narrowed down the search for a stud to 2-3. Ára will be staying in Michigan with my niece and her husband and Kylja is going to live on a farm in Ohio with big brother Kutur. Kolli and Kalla are close in Michigan. Leira going home with her new family in Tennessee!!! Almost 8 weeks! 12/02/2011
Here is the famous chair picture of the puppies at almost 8 weeks. L to R Ára, Kylja, Leira, Boi, Kalla and Kolli. Here are a few of the other pictures that were taken trying to get the chair shot!!!!! Arbakki Magni 11/28/2011
Just wanted to mention that the sire of Meyla's last litter, Grand Champion Arbakki Magni is one of the top 5 Icelandic Sheepdogs in the US and recieved his invitation to the Westminster Dog Show. Magni's son, Tri-Star Gander (Max) will be turning 2 at the end of January and will be available for stud. His Penn-HIP score is L .39 and R .30 and he just had his 2nd clean CERF. He has full dentition and rear double dews. He weighs about 34 lbs and I will check his height but I'm guessing he's about 18inches. I'm thinking about either using Magni or Gander(Max) for Smá's first litter. These pictures are of Tri-Star Gander(Max) Forgot to mention that Max will start hitting the show ring in the spring, maybe before. Eye checks 11/28/2011
Well, today I went with 10 dogs for CERF tests. Everybody had good eyes. These puppies aren't really liking the car. I had a 3 hour round trip for eye exams and for the whole 3 hours one or more puppies cried the whole time! This is their 3rd car trip, I would of thought they would be getting use to it. I guess this means a few more car trips, maybe with earplugs. On a brighter note, I have been crating the puppies 2 to a crate for the night and they settle easy and go for 6 hours with no accidents in the crates. After 6 hours they start to whine and cry to be let out. They have been getting use to their collars and continue to do fine with nail cuttings. Temperament tests and structure evaluations were done on Sunday. All of the puppies scored within .5 of each other. All the puppies scored right in the middle with their really not being a clear alpha in the litter. Puppy pictures will be done tomorrow! I'm going to have to do the litter picture on the back of the chair picture this week too. I can't believe they are almost 8 weeks old, within a week they will start heading to their new homes. Post Title. 11/19/2011
Today the puppies went to the vet for health checks, first shots and micro chipping. Everything looks good and they weren't too bad for micro chipping. It's a really big needle. I distract them by feeding them food out of my hand. Hopefully I will get 6 week pictures taken tomorrow. The puppies are loving to go outside, every chance they get they try and slip out the doggie door. The whelping and weaning boxes are gone, once they learn that it's much more fun outside the whelping box they cry to get out. Some are very vocal about telling us they want to be with us, not in their pen. | AuthorHi Everyone, I live in Michigan with my husband and 3 kids. I only have about 1 litter every year and a half.
